— formerly Catapult Online — is a leading provider of online educational instruction. Our program is designed to help students learn key concepts, fill learning gaps, and get back on track for academic success. Educate Online is committed to being the preferred partner of schools, school districts and families by delivering unmatched quality and engaging online educational services that improve student achievement.
Educate Online has developed a highly interactive and engaging solution, working with more than 50,000 students nationwide and delivering more than 1.4 million sessions during the past seven years. Our program is aligned with state standards and is proven to provide academic gains for students in grades 3–12. The Educate Online program can be offered at a student’s home or as part of an in-school program. In addition, Educate Online is available to families through Sylvan Learning Centers.
A solid education builds a foundation for success in life. Yet many students today struggle to stay on track. All students are different; their learning styles and their learning needs vary. Choosing the right solution is the challenge faced by many parents and guardians.
The unique online prescriptive intervention program offered by Educate Online differs from “homework help” or other tutoring services in significant ways. Educate Online is able to identify and address the key concepts that are impeding a student’s progress in a particular subject, resulting in better grades, a sense of self‑confidence, and a positive attitude toward school.
All Educate Online students start on their path to success by taking an online assessment. The assessment identifies a student’s skill gaps in math, reading, or algebra and identifies the specific concepts the student needs to learn. An individualized program is then developed for each student and delivered online by a state-certified teacher. The teacher works with the student one-on-one, accelerating learning and providing encouragement and support as the student reaches key learning milestones. A student can also be matched with a targeted tutor based on special learning needs, such as English as a Second Language (ESL) or learning disabilities.
The result: Research proves students who complete Educate Online’s instructional program achieve academic gains of more than one grade level and approach school with renewed confidence.
Students can take advantage of Educate Online’s proven academic program in three different ways:
Educate Online is available to students who attend schools that are struggling to meet adequate yearly progress goals through the Supplemental Educational Service program under the No Child Left Behind Act. In the safety and convenience of their homes, students receive personalized instruction from state-certified teachers via an engaging online program based on their schedule.
Schools and districts can now offer Educate Online to students either at school — during school hours, after school, or during the summer — or at home. In addition to the complete instructional programs in Math, Algebra, and/or Reading, Educate Online’s school services include enhanced reporting to help teachers monitor their students’ progress. Educate Online also offers individualized matching of students who have special instructional needs with teachers who can meet those specific needs. For example, English Language Learner (ELL) students work with ESL-certified teachers, and special education students are taught by teachers certified in that specialty area.
The same proven program offered to students via the schools is also available to individuals via Sylvan Learning. Sylvan Online is powered by Educate Online and offers the same prescriptive intervention program to students who live far from a Sylvan center or who want the flexible schedule and convenience of online instruction in their own homes.
